silk cotton croccante is the most costly fabric sula has ever ordered. we simply couldn’t resist! and, to our delight, it has proved a top seller.

this special cloth is woven, in small production runs, in the tuscan city of prato. with its 63% cotton and 37% silk thread mix, croccante combines durability with a muted satin sheen; has a lovely dry handle and versatile year-round weight. it is dyed in a super-flattering soft black tone.

we have used silk cotton croccante liberally for autumn/winter 2025-26.  its tight weave rendered it perfect for our new informal corset top, with its side opening, fastened by tiny wood buttons and loop fastenings and, hand-stitched cotton bindings. it also works beautifully for our softly tailored, winter weight stanley, warm and jack jackets and tin pants, accented with our signature hand-painted black and white wooden buttons and multiple pocket styles.

of special note – so special, we have just one garment left! – is embroidered collar shirt which features a geometric cubist style hand-embroidered design, on the cuffs as well as the collar, inspired by a 1920s collar and cuffs set. each shirt took one, highly skilled artisan 2.5 hours to hand-stitch. last year, during sampling, we travelled to vietnam to check in on our fairtrade workshop to see the women making these.

silk cotton croccante can be machine washed on a gentle cycle and we recommend line drying to ensure the longevity of your beautiful garments.
