These sula silk drawstring Japan pants are comfortable, pretty and practical. They have been a part of our collections for many years now. Some of our customers have them in several colours. We cut them in a slightly drop crotched style, and put the drawstring towards the side of the waist to avoid bulk.
We spent a lot of time working on the shape of the leg. Not too wide and not too narrow, and cut with a slight curve on the inside leg. They are really deceptively simple, with no side seams.
These silk drawstring Japan pants are useful to wear as a layering piece underneath a tunic dress on a chilly day, or with a soft sweater or blouse.
Like a lot of our clothing there is story about how the Japan silk drawstring pants came to be. There is a fabulous vintage shop in Paris in the Rue Rochechouart called Mamie Blue. There I found a perfect pant. We re-cut the leg shape, dropped the crotch, and made them our own.

The model is 5ft 11in and wearing a size small.
Machine wash on a cool and gentle setting. Line dry in the shade. Line drying is better for your clothes and better for the planet.
