the sula team went up to london to visit the dirty looks exhibition at the barbican in london for inspiration and research. as well as fun. we highly recommend a visit.
shepherd dresses and tunics
inspired by an ancient shepherd smock shirt we discovered at a car boot sale. hannah did many smocking tests on the various fabrics, testing different coloured embroidery threads.
how sula ss20 was created
When I started to think about ss20, it was actually spring in 2019. After a re-watch of Frida the movie, I became interested in the square shapes and deceptively simple garments worn by Kahlo.
inspired by vintage cloth
In Vietnam our production team have been busy marking up the cloth for cutting and stitching. Meanwhile, by the sea, we are cutting final pieces of material and checking patterns.
