shepherd dresses and tunics
inspired by an ancient shepherd smock shirt we discovered at a car boot sale. hannah did many smocking tests on the various fabrics, testing different coloured embroidery threads.

Keilia was overjoyed to have the company of Alisons cat Dewina on set. we were warmed up by lots of fresh mint tea and a fire, we feasted on home made bread.
reversible dog coat
reversible shiny coat inspired by ember coat AW19 is incredibly versatile, and hand made one by one with intricate felled seams and hand made wooden buttons.

Alison snuck her three favourite shirts from her husband, we tried them on to see how they looked across all of our various sizes. hand made one by one.

Versatility and longevity are central to Sula’s ethos, after extensive research we sourced a snug, wool/rayon, reversible fabric. this collection also features hand-loomed knitwear, in luxury yarns.

Upon our arrival at D+A morning light poured in from the windows We all had an excited buzz motivating us through our jet lag as it was a busy show.
our collection for summer 24
Overalls have all been carefully cut to flatter the female form. We also present our first bridal dress as well as a new print, inspired by the faded pressed flowers found betwixt antique books.
The Rosalita dress
The Rosalita dress was inspired by the Rosa jacket which has roots in Eastern European workwear. I am wearing mine as a spring coat for this fresh weather.
the thorn dress
This dress was inspired by traditional Mexican shapes. The only exception is the neckline, although the traditional huipil blouses did not have a curved neckline.
how sula ss20 was created
When I started to think about ss20, it was actually spring in 2019. After a re-watch of Frida the movie, I became interested in the square shapes and deceptively simple garments worn by Kahlo.
sula SS19 photoshoot
The shoot was a great success despite the baking sun shining over us, we giggled, ate delicious food and got excited about how great the clothes looked.
the clean shirt
Clean shirt is easy, hard wearing and stylish, made from Japanese washi cloth which is from the pulp of the gampi tree, mitsumata and kozo bush. Made by hand it involves an intricate process.
