after extensive fabric research we sourced our gorgeous ‘flight’ fabric which is a snug wool/rayon, japanese reversible fabric. it is soft and fluffy wool one side, sheeny rayon the other. for autumn winter 2024 the flight fabric is made into tie-fastening jackets, corset shape tops, a waistcoat style garment with pockets and a gathered back which is called ‘body warmer’ and a flared skirt.
our jackets made from flight are perfect to throw on over an outfit whether its casual or you’re all dressed up. our flight jackets have been made reversible as we love both sides of this amazing fluffy shiny fabric too much to hide either one away.reversible Paris jacket is stand out and glamorous worn with the shiny side out and could be thrown over an ami slip dress for a party. or flip the bomber to show off the soft wool side and add your favourite beaten up jeans.
on of our fabric suppliers recently visited us told us that when he showed the people who make the flight fabric how sula were using the fluffy shiny fabric they found it very surprising and also felt very pleased for it to be used by a feminine clothing brand. the flight fabric is a reproduction of what would have been used to make vintage low altitude flight jackets.
we had a lot of fun designing with flight in mind and have found it an incredibly practical winter cloth and you can definitely expect to see more made from shiny flight in future collections!
