we recently had a visit from eunice, general manager of innovative knitwear where sula knitwear is crafted. we found it exciting to hear all about the processes which go on behind the scenes and to learn more about how we can get the exact results we envisage. we want to take a moment to share with you a bit more about the journey and craftsmanship behind our beautiful knitwear.

where our Yarns come from:
our knitwear begins with the finest materials sourced from Incatops, a renowned yarn producer since 1965. incatops specializes in high-quality yarns made from peruvian alpaca fleece, which is considered the best in the world. they offer pure alpaca yarn and wool balls, as well as unique blends with other noble fibers, one of our favourite blends is tiyarik which is a soft blend of alpaca and merino wool, tiyarik is what is used to create our fluffy cardigan which is entirely hand loom knitted.
alpacas are sheared once a year, similar to sheep, this process is essential for their health and well-being. If left unshorn, their fleece can cause them distress. by partnering with incatops, we ensure that our yarns are not only of exceptional quality but also sourced with care and respect for the animals.
The Craftsmanship of Our knitwear
our fluffy nickel cardigans seen below on the left is 100% hand loom knitted in peru using a baby alpaca and silk wool mix. we hand make the wooden buttons which are then painted in a specially mixed colour, to match each of the shades the cardi is available in. nickel cardi is a classic style, it is loose fitting and easy to wear. with ribbing at the cuff, hem and neck.
